Dr. Bade founded Professional Orthopaedic Associates in 1990.
He attended the University of Pennsylvania where he played lacrosse for four years, earning varsity letters and all Ivy-League honors. He then served, as a lieutenant in the US Armed Forces from 1968-1970 (Vietnam). He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in 1976. At Roosevelt Hospital, he assisted in the care of the NY Mets Baseball team and the New York City Ballet. During his residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), he was chief of the Bone Tumor Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital. He then completed a year of fellowship training in Shoulder and Hand Surgery at the HSS.
Next, he trained at Duke University Medical Center where he assisted in replantation surgery of traumatic amputations.

At the HSS, he was also involved with and continues consulting for the New York Giants. Dr. Bade is also an orthopaedic team physician for Monmouth University, Georgian Court University, many area high schools and the New Jersey Stallion Pro Soccer team.

Additionally, Dr. Bade is a Clinical and Academic Instructor for the Orthopaedic Residency Program at Monmouth Medical Center. He has been awarded the “Golden Hands Award” which is the Monmouth Medical Center award for Surgical Excellence as well as the “Nicholas Ransohoff, MD Award” for Long Term Teaching excellence. He is also the 2005 recipient of the Presidential Award by the Athletic Trainer’s Society of New Jersey.

Dr. Bade has 25 years of surgical experience and specializes in the treatment of anterior cruciate ligament injuries, rotator cuff repair, shoulder reconstruction, knee arthroscopy, hand fractures and tendon injuries. He is one of a few senior active members of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine in New Jersey and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons.

In his spare time, Dr. Bade enjoys a variety of sporting activities including golf, skiing, hunting and spending time with his wife and children.

Dr. Bade is available to see patients at the Tinton Falls, Toms River and Freehold Offices.
