Dr. Gentile graduated magna cum laude from Drew University, in Madison, New Jersey where he received a full academic scholarship. His medical school degree was completed at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Gentile chose to pursue an orthopaedic surgery residency at Monmouth Medical Center. Fellowship training in hand, nerve, microvascular and upper extremity surgery followed at the University of Utah plus additional training at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons Microvascular Lab in New York City.
Dr. Gentile specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow and wrist as well as carpal tunnel surgery and all other hand and nerve disorders. His special interests include sports related injuries such as fractures, sprains and arthritis. He serves as a team physician for Monmouth University, Georgian Court University and many local high schools in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
Dr. Gentile is board certified in orthopaedic surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons (FACS). Dr. Gentile belongs to the New Jersey and Monmouth County Orthopaedic Societies as well as the American Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Gentile also serves as Assistant Program Director for the Monmouth Medical Center Orthopaedic Residency Training Program, specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery.
Mountain biking, lacrosse, boating and spending time with his wife and two daughters are Dr. Gentile’s favorite pastimes.
Dr. Gentile is available to see patients at the Tinton Falls, Toms River and Freehold Offices.
