Athlete Makes Incredible Comeback

December 2009 - Dr. Torpey

Dr. Brian Torpey first met Angela Colletti, a Wall High School soccer player, in February 2008. Through her own hard work, skill and determination coupled with the expertise of her orthopaedic surgeon, physical therapist and certified athletic trainer she returned to become the leading scorer for the 2009 girls soccer team.

Angela injured both ACL’s (plus her meniscus and MCL) in a nine-month span. After her first injury, Angela was distraught but then she had a remarkable recovery. After her second injury, she didn't even want to think about playing soccer again.

Angela’s parents said, “Meeting with Dr. Torpey made our daughter feel confident that everything would be okay. He just has a calming, yet "upbeat" way about him. Dr. Torpey gained our trust and confidence in no time. We were not intimidated discussing our smallest concerns. We never, at any moment, felt like we were being rushed out of the office.

Angela has persevered through two significant injuries to return to a very high level of play. P.O.A. is proud to be just one piece of the puzzle that made this comeback possible.
