After all the snow and rain this winter many golfers are looking forward to hitting the links this spring and summer. Low back and elbow injuries are two of the most common injuries that an keep golfers from playing a game that they enjoy.

TIPS to Reducing the Chances of Injury

  • Warming-up
    • walk briskly for 15 minutes prior to your round which will:
    • increase blood flow so your muscles get more oxygen
    • increase body temperature which allows muscles to be more extensible
    • get player psychologically ready for competition
  • Stretching
    • low back stretches
    • hamstring stretches
    • shoulder stretches
  • Strengthening abdomen
    • low back
    • pelvis
  • Practicing proper mechanics
