Bones
The supporting framework of the body is the skeleton. It is usually composed of 206 bones. The skeleton protects vital organs such as the spinal cord, brain, heart and lungs. There are many different classifications of bone.

Joints
Bones of the skeleton articulate (or come in contact with one another) at joints. Joints are moved by the action of muscles. There are many joint types and classifications. Some joints are highly mobile, others are not.

Muscles
Skeletal muscle forms the major muscle mass of the body. It is voluntary, meaning that it is under direct control of the brain and can be contracted or relaxed at will. Since it attaches to the bones, it is responsible for movement at the joints.

Workers Compensation Injuries
We have years of experience with work related injuries. Our goals:

  • Provide unsurpassed orthopaedic health care

  • Return a productive employee to the workplace as safely and quickly as possible

  • Work with nurse case managers and employers to develop appropriate work restrictions and light duty assignments when medically necessary

  • In-house transcription department provides faxed quick note or chart note within 24 hours

Joint Replacement

Our fellowship trained surgeons are experts in joint replacement surgery. This surgery is recommended when the joint becomes swollen or painful due to wear, loosening or infection. These replacement procedures have improved patients' quality of life by improving range of motion, decreasing pain and increasing activity levels. If joint pain is interfering with sleep or your activities of daily living, then you should consult with an orthopaedic surgeon. If you are suffering from joint pain, please call our office for an appointment.
