Sports Medicine
Sports Medicine can be defined as the branch of medicine concerned with the treatment of injuries or illness resulting from athletic activities. Many of our physicians have completed an additional year or more of sports medicine training and are now Board Certified in sports medicine by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Many of our physicians were athletes themselves. They understand that athletes want to return quickly to their sport. We pride ourselves on being accessible to our patients. We believe that with a timely diagnosis and treatment plan, the patient will be able to return as quickly and as safely as possible.
Professional Orthopaedic Associates has been a leader in the sports medicine community for over 25 years. Our practice is one of the first to provide on-site medical coverage for area high school varsity football games. We are also the team orthopedic physicians for Division I Monmouth University and Georgian Court University, providing physicals, weekly clinics and on-site medical coverage for football and basketball games. We also offer a Saturday Sports Medicine Clinic for anyone who suffers from an emergency athletic injury, from professional athletes to the weekend warrior.
