Shoulder, Sports Medicine, Knee, and Elbow

Jason R. Saleh, MD, is a board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder surgery and sports medicine. Dr. Saleh treats patients of all ages and activity levels with all conditions of the shoulder, including arthritis, rotator cuff tear, dislocation, and fracture as well as failed previous surgery. He also treats injuries of the knee, including ligament, meniscus, and cartilage damage.

Dr. Saleh approaches patient care utilizing the principles of understanding and education. First, it is important to understand how a condition is affecting everyday life, as that will be one of the most critical factors to help guide treatment. Second, Dr. Saleh focuses on explaining the diagnosis and treatment options that exist. Only with a good understanding of the condition and the available treatments can a patient make an informed decision. Dr. Saleh guides his patients through each treatment so that they can pick the one that is right for them.

Dr. Saleh graduated from Hillsborough High School and then earned his bachelor of science degree in exercise physiology from Rutgers University. He completed medical school at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical student honor society, as well as to the Gold Humanism in Medicine Honor Society. Upon graduation, Dr. Saleh was chosen by his peers as the commencement speaker at graduation. He stayed on at Mount Sinai for residency in orthopaedic surgery where he studied under world-renowned shoulder surgeon Dr. Evan Flatow. During his final year of residency, Dr. Saleh was elected by his mentors and co-residents to serve as the administrative chief resident.

Following residency, Dr. Saleh was selected to complete a fellowship in sports medicine at Stanford University, where he assisted in the care of the San Francisco 49ers as well as the university’s men’s and women’s athletic teams, including the Stanford football team. Dr. Saleh then completed an additional fellowship focusing on the surgery of the shoulder and elbow. His time was split between Stanford University and traveling to several other sites where he studied various techniques from leaders in the field in Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and Europe.

Dr. Saleh enjoys woodworking, cycling, playing guitar, and hiking with his wife, son, and two dogs.

He is available to see patients at the Tinton Falls, Toms River, and Freehold offices.
