“My daughter Angela is a high school soccer player. She injured both ACLs (plus her meniscus and MCL) in a nine-month span. We, as a family, were so distraught after her first injury. Angela was assured by Dr. Torpey that she would be back on the playing field, but I don't think she really believed it would happen. Sure enough she had a remarkable recovery and was back practicing within five months! But after her second injury, she didn't even want to think about playing soccer again. Dr. Torpey made her feel confident from her visit with him that everything would be okay. He just has a calming, yet "upbeat" way about him. As parents we were so scared at the thought of Angela needing surgery and complications that could accompany it. Dr. Torpey gained our trust and confidence in no time. We were not intimidated discussing our smallest concerns. We never at any moment felt like we were being rushed out of the office because he had other patients to attend to. We often feel like that with other practices. The few times we had to call during off hours, we immediately received a return phone call. We also received phone calls from Dr. Torpey himself just to see how she was doing. We felt like we knew him for a very long time. Anytime someone gets hurt, "Go see Dr. Torpey" are the first words out of Angelas mouth, followed by "He is amazing."”

“I have been a patient of Dr. Bade since 1982 when he did a carpal tunnel operation on my right wrist. That I have been his patient for 33 years, says something about the doctor. I have also seen Dr. Johnson, who I also like.”

“I have been a patient at Professional Orthopaedic Associates since the beginning. I was an original patient of Dr. Bade in the Long Branch office. Dr. Bade has performed three of the five surgeries on my left knee. The other two were performed out of state. Dr. Bade was consulted on both surgeries and both were performed by physicians based on his recommendations. Dr. Jason Cohen performed a C Spine disectomy on me in 2005. Over the years and various other injuries or follow-ups on existing injuries or surgeries, I have been seen by the other doctors in the group and have been very satisfied with all of them.”

“About 3 and a half years ago my hip began hurting me. I first went to see Dr. Bade who quickly recommended that I see the hip surgeon Dr. Torpey. Unfortunately, it turned out that I had a torn labrum. In order for the pain to go away and the situation not to get any worse he recommended that I get surgery. Needless to say, it was a complete success. “Came to see Dr. Bade after an incident that happened over a year prior where I experienced a pain like no other while trying to lift heavy dresses over my head after picking up their hangers from behind. After a thorough exam it was determined that there was nothing seriously wrong (whew!) and that some light exercise would help.  While other doctors might have gone for more expensive tests or physical therapy or prescription medication, Dr. Bade always takes the time to listen to me, ask additional questions, and do a thorough hands-on examination. I know I'm in good hands (literally).”
