“Dr. Gesell is just great. He took the time to carefully explain why the surgery was needed and how it would be done. Expected outcomes were also discussed. The pre-surgery program and the pre-surgery testing done at Monmouth Hospital were first rates preparing the day of surgery very easy and less stressful. Through diligent pre-surgery exercises and post-surgery physical therapy, I have had a successful outcome. I would recommend and have approved, Professional Orthopaedic Associates and Dr. Gesell to anyone in need of their services. ”

“I have a one year update to share: After my multi-level, 3 disc fusion on Sept 21, 2015 and 12 weeks of rehab, I was out playing golf once again. When I went to see Dr. Cohen back in Sept 2015 I was convinced that golf was no longer in my vocabulary and regaining full use of my legs may not be possible. My spinal cord was pinched off so severely that my legs could not hold me up and walking was very limited. Since then I have continued to exercise and began playing competitive golf in February, just 5 months later. This past August, one year to the day that I was injured, I returned to Myrtle Beach to compete in the world's largest amateur golf tournament, where I withdrew just one year ago. This event is a grinding 4 day tournament against 3500 golfers from all over the world and I was elated that I won my flight every day for four days straight. Then the day before my 50th birthday, two days before the anniversary of my surgery, I won the Club Championship at the Golf Club of NJ and then again the Club Championship at Pine Barrens Golf Course. Two weeks after that, another win at Galloway Golf Club in a NJ State tournament. These are all events that took me 20 years to finally win and I did it at age 50; one year after a major, major back surgery. I am so very grateful to Dr. Cohen for giving me my life back and I can't thank him enough. He is a phenomenal surgeon. Don't settle for less. ”

“Dear Dr. Gentile and Staff, About ten days ago our 13 year-old son, Joey, collided with a base runner during a baseball game. He broke his front tooth and his left thumb. With the remainder of his soccer and baseball seasons hanging in the balance, he was extremely anxious to see a doctor for a prognosis. Most offices wanted to put us off for a couple of days, but the uncertainty was driving him crazy! Dr. Gentile agreed to see him on a Tuesday in the Toms River office even though he was not seeing patients that day. For our stressed familys first experience with anything like this, your office has been amazing to us! From Tina, who got us the appointment immediately to caring Verna at the office to Sherry who has gone above and beyond producing notes that my son 'forgot' to Dr. Gentile, who took the time out of what, I am sure, is an already packed schedule, to see a frightened, anxious 13 year-old boy. Absolutely everyone has been such a pleasure, every step of the way! Then two weeks later, our other son also broke his thumb. Someone suggested that I should see a doctor in my plan. I said without hesitation, 'No, that other office was not understanding or accommodating. I have had such a great experience with Dr. Gentiles office that I dont want to go anywhere else. We will make it work to stay with them.' I just really wanted to pass along how much your kindness has meant to my family.
