“Dr. Torpey, Hope all is well with you! I wanted to get in touch with you to give you a little update and let you know how I’m doing. Working with Drew and Basil has been fantastic to say the least. Turns out I had a lot of muscle imbalances that went unaddressed. They taught me so much and have helped me with the majority of my issues. It’s amazing how quickly the sensation I was feeling of an overly tight anterior capsule disappeared as my imbalances were corrected. I still have a fair amount of work to do, but finally seeing real substantial progress has me very optimistic for the future. I even started lightly working out again. My shoulders feel much more symmetrical and my exercises feel normal again. Things are finally starting to look up for me and I couldn’t be happier. I want to thank you for everything you’ve done for me. I’m sure I drove you crazy with all my questions and concerns, but what meant the most to me is that you always listened and never once made me feel stupid for asking them. “Dr. Torpey did my Revision rotator cuff surgery, after the 1st one by another orthopedic surgeon let go an anchor after 10 months of pain, rehab and being careful. I am a female in my early 60's so the first shot is always the best. However, I believed in Dr. Torpey for the revision surgery and so far my rehab for 4+ mos. had a good outcome, range of motion and all. Although I feel I may never get the strength back that I had before, God willing I will be painless after a year and be able to go back to my normal activities without worrying I will pull something out again. But it has been a long road, 2 surgeries in one year and all that rehab. My take on Dr. Torpey is that he a very nice, caring person, and a fine doctor.”

“Before I met Doctor Torpey, whenever I held my two toddlers I had a huge Charlie horse in my leg. It was heart breaking (explaining why I had to put them down), but the toughest part was not knowing why it was so painful. Brian (Doctor Torpey) explained to me what a labrum was and why I had pain for what seemed like no reason at all. As a life-long swimmer, hip pain was new to me. After he explained the procedure and the rehabilitation, I chose the Labrum reconstruction surgery. I was in and out in one afternoon. In my follow up visit, he walked me through the surgery performed (picture by picture) and showed me the repair that was done. After a few months of p/t, and a few visits back to Professional Orthopedic Associates, I was holding and swimming my little ones! As a forty something, a father and professional in the largest healthcare system in New Jersey, I recommend Doctor Brian Torpey for anyone considering labrum surgery.
