New Fellowship-Trained Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Surgeon Joins Professional Orthopaedic Associates

Dr. Ryan Plyler, fellowship-trained orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon, joined Professional Orthopaedic Associates on Aug. 1. Dr. Plyler is available to see patients at the practice’s offices in Tinton Falls, located at 776 Shrewsbury Ave., Suite 105; Toms River, located at 1430 Hooper Ave., Suite 101; and Freehold, located at 303 West Main St. Patients in need of specialized knee, shoulder, hip or sports medicine care are encouraged to call (732) 530-4949 to schedule an appointment.

As a fellowship-trained orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon, Dr. Plyler’s expertise includes a wide variety of advanced procedures and techniques to promptly and effectively diagnose and treat orthopaedic and sports-related injuries and conditions. He specializes in the treatment of the knee, shoulder and hip, including sports medicine care for all ages, cartilage restoration and joint preservation.

After receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., Dr. Plyler completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. Following his residency, Dr. Plyler underwent extensive specialty training by completing a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia.
