“I started going to Dr. Gesell last fall for a rotator cuff injury. He recommended physical therapy and that did the trick. I was told 3 years ago that I had to have total knee surgery for my right knee. So when I knew that the time had come, I returned to Dr. Gesell. I had researched his credentials and saw that he did his residency at the Center for Special Surgery in NYC, where they specialize in knee replacements.  I knew that he was the surgeon for me. I had the surgery on January 10, 2014 and it went great! I was home on that Monday and had 2 weeks of in-home therapy before starting outpatient physical therapy. I am now going on 10 weeks post surgery and I'm almost 100%. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Gesell. He was always very attentive to my questions and concerns before and after surgery, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is considering knee replacement surgery. He's the best!”

“Dr. Torpey did my Revision rotator cuff surgery, after the 1st one by another orthopedic surgeon let go an anchor after 10 months of pain, rehab and being careful. I am a female in my early 60's so the first shot is always the best. However, I believed in Dr. Torpey for the revision surgery and so far my rehab for 4+ mos. had a good outcome, range of motion and all. Although I feel I may never get the strength back that I had before, God willing I will be painless after a year and be able to go back to my normal activities without worrying I will pull something out again. But it has been a long road, 2 surgeries in one year and all that rehab. My take on Dr. Torpey is that he a very nice, caring person, and a fine doctor.”

I met with Dr. Johnson the following Monday, and by the end of that week, I was in and out of surgery. After a years worth of healing and rehabilitation, I made a come back for my senior season, without missing a snap the entire year. I'd like to thank Professional Orthopaedic Associates, and especially Dr. Johnson, for helping me get back on the field one more time, and making such a miserable situation go smoothly.”

“My husband and I leave in a week for a cruise to the British Isles, thanks to you. We would have lost thousands of dollars, as we booked too late to qualify for the travel insurance. You studied the MRI (of my shoulder), asked pertinent questions, then made the call to proceed with an injection. At first, I was worried that things seemed to get worse that night. I felt no change after one hour or six hours. Then, one day later, I felt 40% better. One week later, I felt 80% better. I stopped taking any medications and was no later kept awake all night trying to find a position that wouldn’t aggravate my shoulder. “Dr. Gesell and his staff were professional and patiently answered all of my questions. I am 115 days post surgery with and I am pleased with the results. I am able to walk downstairs without taking them one at a time. Dr. Gesell operated with a robot assist and used glue instead of staples on closing the surgical wound which made for a simple, tasteful scar. I was nervous about the surgery but my fears were put to rest and I'm happy that I decided to have it. Luckily I only needed one knee replaced but I would definitely use Dr. Gesell again should I need to replace the other knee in the future. The staff at the group is warm and efficient and I never had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seen. Overall this was a positive experience and I would recommend Dr. Gesell to anyone in need of a new knee. ”
