  • “During the past 7 years, I needed surgery on both of my shoulders. From the beginning, Dr. Gentile provided guidance and support for my injuries. Each time he performed surgery, the discomfort and pain I experienced was eliminated. Dr. Gentile explained each procedure in detail, and spent the time to show me the x-ray and MRI pictures. giving me details on why surgery was recommended. Today, I enjoy a life without shoulder pain or discomfort.”

  • “In 2010, during my junior year of football at Moravian College, I suffered a broken fibula and dislocated ankle in the second game of the season. I met with Dr. Johnson the following Monday, and by the end of that week, I was in and out of surgery. After a years worth of healing and rehabilitation, I made a come back for my senior season, without missing a snap the entire year. I'd like to thank Professional Orthopaedic Associates, and especially Dr. Johnson, for helping me get back on the field one more time, and making such a miserable situation go smoothly.”

    – Stephen K.

  • “Professional Orthopaedic Associates and Dr. Glenn Gabisan in particular, represent what an orthopaedic practice and physician should be. He diagnosed my knee problem after reviewing x-rays and a MRI that were conveniently performed in the same building at the Tinton Falls office. The practice's policy is to use surgery as a last resort, which I truly appreciate. They try to see each patient within a reasonable time frame of the appointment, and they do not seem to overbook. The office staff and the technicians are extremely competent as well. I have recommended several other patients, including my gymnast granddaughter to this practice, and they were treated by other physicians of the practice in the same professional manor. In the future, if I or any friend or relative need orthopaedic attention, this is the practice I will use and recommend.”

    – Edward D.

  • “I am so very grateful for my two new knees!! Dr. Foos has given me back my life! It had been years since I was able to exercise the way I wanted to. Now I can walk, bike, do Zumba, and enjoy moving to the music the way I used to. Swimming is still great, but I no longer have to rely on the pool for my only form of exercise. My volunteer work at the Bronx Zoo is no longer painful. There's such a lot of ground to cover, but now I'm happy to be there. This doesn't even cover playing with my grandchildren! It's amazing how much we take for granted, and how we can get used to losing it. It's easy to forget what you loved to do, but it's wonderful to rediscover them again. The care I received was wonderful. Physical therapy took several months, but following "orders" and hard work were definitely worth it. I am thankful every day.”

    – Susan G.

  • “It was a pleasure to be a patient of Dr. Johnson.  I was a patient at the Toms River office. The staff at that office was wonderful to me. I had problems with arthritis in my left knee. After taking x-rays, Dr. Johnson gave me a shot of cortisone and prescribed physical therapy. Both the shot and the physical therapy did work really well for me at the time. Dr. Johnson is a wonderful, caring doctor. Thank you.”

    – Judith H.

  • “Could not believe that I broke my foot, nonetheless in three places. Dr. Gabisan took excellent care of me, and I would recommend his services to anyone. It was an absolute positive experience. Well, as good as it could be when one is casted!!”

    – Janet U.

  • “My story started May 2012, when my muscle on my left knee detached from my bone. I went to the ER first, then to Professional Orthopaedic Associates. I saw Dr. Gentile, who took a MRI. After seeing the results, he set a date to operate. All that I told him was that I did not want to know anything at the time of the operation. True to his word, I did not feel anything. I came out of the operation feeling good. His professionalism, knowledge, and compassion, made me feel safe and confidant at the follow-ups. He gave me confidence to dance and to walk on my leg again I would highly recommend Dr. Gentile and his staff for any orthopaedic needs. Thank you.”

    – Robert P.

  • “I had an open dislocation to my left ring finger (MIP joint), suffered during a rugby game. I was reaching for a loose ball when a player from the opposing team came in with her foot. This was the second injury to the same finger treated by Dr. Johnson. Previously, I had a fracture that required two pins to properly set the bone. Both injuries had amazing outcomes, and I couldn't be happier with the care I received from Dr. Johnson and the entire practice!”

    – Christine D.

  • “I had hip replacement surgery with Dr. Gesell a year and a half ago. I can't tell you how much it has meant to me. I am "as good as new," and I can do everything I was always accustomed to do, leading an active life. The surgery took about twenty years off my age! I am so grateful.”

    – Helen B.

  • “I had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Gesell. He is extremely nice, and a very compassionate doctor. Because I had such positive experiences, I referred my family members to Professional Orthopaedic Associates as well, and they had the same experience I did. I have nothing but high remarks for Dr. Gesell, Dr. Foos, and Kevin Ruscio, P.A.-C.”

    – Daniel H.

  • “Excellent care and a very knowledgable physician.”

  • “My 17 year old daughter had a boxers fracture on her right hand.  I searched for 2 days to find a doctor that would take our insurance. I could have taken her to the emergency room, which would have cost over $3000, just to be looked at WITH insurance. Then we would have been told to go to an orthopaedic doctor to reset the hand and cast it.After being on the internet for 2 days searching for a doctor, I found Professional Orthopaedic Associates at 5:55 in the evening and left a distressing message on the machine. I told them that I needed care for my daughter with this certain insurance, that NO one was taking, or no one was available to see her for 3 weeks! At 6:00, I received a very calming voice on the other end of the phone that they would be able to help us. They had an agreement to take what ever the insurance would give them. The relief was indescribable. We went the next morning at 7:30 am. The office was friendly and very professional. Dr. Johnson was great. He was very professional and very relaxed with my daughter. We laughed about her boxer fracture that is usually a male injury, from hitting a wall. Temper temper. My daughter’s care was outstanding and very professional. I would go back if I needed to any time.I was nervous that the bill was still going to be high, with one child in college and the next one ready to go to college, our money is being handled very carefully. When I received the final statement from the insurance company of what we owed, which was zero. We paid our co-pays and they stood by what they said and took what ever the insurance company paid.  All I could do was thank God first, and thank Professional Orthopaedic Associates for their generosity and their integrity.  I haven't been able to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, until now. Our experience was a great blessing and a life lesson for my daughter. Never punch a wall when you’re mad.”

    – Laura S.

  • “Dr. Foos has been an absolute caring physician since my knee surgery. He takes his time with explaining the procedure, post-op, and office visits. I am very pleased with his services, and have referred several of my friends to him. They were completely satisfied as I was.”

    – Ilorraine W.

  • “I suffered with knee pain for quite a long time before being referred to Dr. Foos. He spoke to me, had me have x-rays and a MRI. He found that I had a torn meniscus in my left knee. I had never had surgery before and was nervous to fix my knee. Dr. Foos performed an arthroscopic procedure. Since he helped me, I have not had any pain in my knee at all. He advised me that my right knee also needed the same treatment. The x-rays had shown a slight slanting of both my kneecaps. Two years after my first procedure, he did the same procedure to my right knee. I am grateful for Dr. Foos and all the staff in that office. They were nothing but kind, happy, and reassuring. It was such a great experience that I recommend this practice constantly. I only wish other doctor visits for other reasons were as pleasant. After rehab (with Sheila) within the same practice, I have full range of motion in both my knees. I am one happy and content patient. I work two jobs and I am a single mom, and I thank God for you all for making me better so I can work.  Thank you.”

    – Maria P.

  • “I was getting ready for work early a.m. on 12/13. While putting my socks on, something happened to my left hip. I literally could not move an inch in any direction without extreme pain (never felt pain that intense in my life 62 years old). I thought I dislocated or broke the hip. My wife called 5 different orthopaedic offices, and no one would see me that day except Dr. Gentile. I had a walker in the house, was able to make it to the car, and my wife drove to the office.  Not only did Dr. Gentile see me that day, but he did not take my insurance. He said he would accept payment from my insurance, whatever it was, without additional charge to us. He took x-rays and his bedside manner was wonderful. I highly recommend Dr. Gentile!  It took 2.5 months, but with only the medication Dr. Gentile prescribed, the pain in my left hip totally disappeared!! Now I'm very careful whenever I put my socks on.”

    – David S.

  • “Dr. Gentile treated my son for a broken hand. He and the staff took care of my son not only medically, but really showed that they cared for him, his injury, and post visits. The professionalism was outstanding. I have already recommended others to the doctor that treated my son. Thank you for what you did, and probably will be seeing you in the future - sports :)”

    – Diane C.

  • “The office staff was great as is Dr. Bade.”

    – Christine N.

  • “I first saw Dr. Johnson back in my freshman year of high school (2004), after having knee pain during field hockey. Dr. Johnson attempted conservative treatment through rehab to get me through the season. At the end of the season, I went for my first arthroscopic knee surgery for a torn meniscus at the surgery center in Tinton Falls. My recovery with physical therapy was very quick and I was able to play basketball half way through the season. I finished high school and went on to play basketball at Brookdale Community College.Although, my visits with Professional Orthopaedic Associates did not end in high school. Dr. Johnson treated several more visits throughout college for various injuries. One injury included a tear to my meniscus of my other knee. So, the process repeated it self to get me through the season with rehab, then correct the tear with surgery after the season. My second arthroscopic knee surgery with Dr. Johnson was in the Toms River Surgery Center. Recovery again was very smooth, and I am happy to say I do not currently have any more knee troubles. Dr. Johnson, the staff at Professional Orthopaedic Associates, and the surgery centers are very professional, and have their patient’s care and safety first in mind. I would definitely recommend Dr. Johnson and Professional Orthopaedic Associates.”

    – Kimberly C.

  • “I had a synvisc shot in both my knees, followed by aquatic therapy, and then regular gym therapy. That was several years ago, and I am doing fine. A single shot with all doses at once did help me along with the therapy. So far, so good. I am glad that my son, Patrick, had me see Dr. Johnson. I would recommend this orthopaedic group to anyone in need of orthopaedic care.”

    – Grace D.

  • “My mom had hip surgery in 1995 with Dr. Torpey. He was wonderful and she loved him. I had elbow and shoulder surgery in 1998 and 1999. Between the extensive rehabilitation and challenges of getting back to work, Dr. Torpey was a constellation of excellence and compassion. He always took the time to listen with empathy, be supportive, and provide the best care. He is a rare find. I have referred several friends to him, and he has made them better. He is my all time favorite orthopaedic surgeon!”

    – Ellen W.

  • “Dr. Torpey spent at least 45 minutes with me, explaining, in most explicit detail, the tear in the supraspinatus, the rotator cuff muscle that is torn. He clearly, with a most intricate drawing, explained the problem and the procedure to repair the tear. Besides his expert knowledge, he most professionally dealt with many of my questions, particularly those that referred to holistic professionals, who had also read my MRI and prescribed a program of action. I felt overwhelmed with the need for surgery, but Dr. Torpey eased any of my concerns. I experienced no pressure to have surgery. Although, Dr. Torpey explained clearly why he believes it is necessary. I was most impressed with the entire experience.”

    – Susan G.

  • “Wonderful , never waited more then 10 minutes in lobby. Dr. Foos knew within 2 minutes what the problem was and booked a MRI that day. I had a MRI 3 days later, and a confirmed meniscus tear. We set up surgery, which he did on a day he doesn't do surgery to accommodative me. Would and have recommended Professional Orthopaedic Associates to others.”

    – Sean R.

  • “Great bunch of guys. Motorcycle accident injury. They treated me and found no operation needed, just physical therapy. What a relief not to go under the knife. Thanks, guys!”

    – Carmen D.

  • “I somehow damaged my back many years ago and since, have had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Cohen. Dr. Cohen has detected several areas of damage to my spinal cord, and performed 2 surgeries already with at least another pending. Both of those surgeries with Dr. Cohen have relieved significant pain, against all the fears of "much dreaded back surgery.”  My family and I completely trust and have every bit of confidence in his diagnoses. In addition, I am secure in the decision for future major surgery when the time comes as long as I know he is performing my surgery!  With each visit and surgery, it is comforting and peace of mind dealing with the entire staff at your office! Thank you so much for all that you do!”

    – Lori P.

  • “I was experiencing considerable pain and discomfort between the 3rd and 4th toe on my left foot. I thought that I might have suffered a fracture in one of the bones in the toe or possibly the metatarsals. Upon examination, my concerns relating to a fracture were relieved, and I was made aware that I had Morton's neuroma. Dr. Gabisan explained the condition and treatment procedures. The condition took about a month to subside and I'm back to running and power walking again.”
